MINNEAPOLIS (April 11, 2018) – Many Minnesotans know that dogs are wonderful companions. As a result, people take their furry friends on road trips and day-to-day errands. In a vehicle, this means added distractions for the driver.
According to a survey sponsored by AAA and Kurgo Pet Products, only 16 percent of people who drive with their dogs, use any form of pet restraint.
“If your dog isn’t restrained, they are a distraction to you in the car. They can also get hurt or hurt other passengers in the event of a crash,” states Madisun VanGundy, Community Relations and PR Specialist for AAA Minneapolis.
In an effort to keep drivers and pets safe, AAA Minneapolis is giving out a limited number of single dog restraints at their Eden Prairie Office.
“Every time you drive, you put on your seatbelt. Do the same for the dog that you love,” said VanGundy. “Pick up a free dog restraint today.”
