Recreational vehicle (RV) travel is more popular than ever and continuing to gain popularity, especially with families.   

Here are some of the top reasons taking a family vacation in an RV is a great way to explore the United States.

#1 Your Traveling Vacation Home

Depending on the size of the RV, it could be more like your home or more like a hotel room.

There are three main types of RVs or motorhomes.  

• Class A motorhomes are the biggest (29-45 feet, typically the size of a school bus or larger) and the most expensive RVs. They are luxurious with tons of amenities and room to sleep four or more. 

• Class Cs are easily recognized by the over-the-cab sleeping or storage area. These affordable mid-size (30-33 feet) motorhomes are perfect for families of 4. 

• Class Bs, also called campervans, are typical van sizes (18-24 feet). They are the smallest and cheapest RVs, perfect for small families. 

When you travel in an RV, you bring everything you need from home on board with you, from bedding and towels to cookware and clothes. You can also pack more of those creature comforts of home with you on the road, which is especially great for traveling with kids. 

It’s got everything you need to sleep, shower, cook, and hang out, whether you’re going for a long weekend or a month, and you only pack once. 

#2 The Journey is part of the Adventure

RV travel can make the trip more enjoyable for the whole family. 

There’s no need to stop constantly for bathroom breaks as you have one board. There’s even a fridge for drinks and snacks. For the grown-ups, it cuts down on the ‘are we there yet?’ questions from the kids as they have room to move around and enjoy activities they brought from home.
